Ahem...greetings. My name is Kudamon and I am the partner of that ruffian primitive Sarasim.

I had been hoping a good vacation was all she needed but it seems she simply can not be won over by the smiles of her friends and the refreshing ocean and beach atmosphere.

I would help her myself but I'm much too busy. Honestly there are people who live for this sort of depressing tosh.

As an example of the problem I wish to direct your attention to what I'm about to let you hear.

*There is the sound of metal, familiar to those with Automail experience and Sarasim muttering to herself. *

Come on...you can do it...come on woman
...GAH!

...

*The sound of fist hitting table and wood cracking*

That in case you were curious...is the sound of a woman trying to eat soup with her automail arm and dropping the spoon down the front of her shirt. Sad really.

So yes peasants, make with the words of comfort and encouragement, I'll be sure she receives it once she's down making a mess of her lunch.

It's a start, at least.

Tell me...when you had your first arm how long was it before you were...at least somewhat functional with it?

Well, before coming to the Digital World, I had just my hands and right leg replaced by automail due to an unfortunate mining incident, but my mechanic, Alexandrine Emmerich, connected all of them at once, which helped speed the process up, but I was in a lot of pain and couldn't move for weeks after that.

I think I might have spent anywhere from six to twelve weeks just in bed since I couldn't move without screaming or wincing in pain. I also remember that I had god-awful fevers and I pretty much felt sick to my stomach.

So, it took a good... oh, six to eight months before I was somewhat able to muster the pain.

All in all, it took me a good year a half to two years to be completely comfortable after the surgery.

I have been told we avoided...alot of that because of the technology available to our doctors here.

I was also told it would take years before I could use it as easily as you use yours.

Yes, which is something I'm really proud of because the pain back home can literally kill someone from the shock of it all.

Well, I still have to calibrate my arm again and again and work the kinks out of it. I know I should still probably be in bed resting it off, but that doesn't quite sit with me.

You seemed so comfortable with it though on our trip...

...oh I never congratulated you properly for you and Sir Greg.

I taught myself how to shoulder the pain, Sarasim.

And... aheh, thank you. We're trying to not draw too much attention to it.

I find the pain...inspires me to push harder...

He seems a very suitable relation for you.

Mm, that would do it, but you don't want to do it too much. Kinda defeats the purpose of a warrior?

W-Well, I have been significantly happier.

I'm not sure I understand.

You were positively glowing upon our return from vacation.

Well, if you find that the pain makes you push harder to do better and that's all you focus on, then you lose a piece of yourself in the process, the side that knows when to quit and live another day.

I think milady's blushing~

WHO ASKED YOU?! *sound of whapping Agumon Hakase.*

A-Aheh... really?

Ah I see now...

Yes indeed...in fact I would say...that you compliment each other in a sense that you make each other more radiant, healthier, happier. A beautiful thing.

A warrior does not lie about such things.
