[Audio because she doesn't know how else to do it.]

Oh dear...

I don't mean to be a pain...but I think I may have broken my apartment. I came into the bathroom to take my shower and flicked the light switch and there was a flash and then darkness. Now I keep flicking the light switch but the lights gone. Did I use up all the magic?

It can die? How horrible I didn't realize my magic light was coming from a living creature!

[identity profile] livingontheweb.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not. It's just a figure of speech. You know how metal will glow if it's heated up enough? Same thing. There's a piece of metal inside the bulb that gets heated up by electricity until it starts glowing.

...Peter

Sorry, science geek sense were tingling. Carry on.

OH I get it now! My tribe invented electricity so we could help re-charge cyborg...it only worked for a few minutes though.

So...in that glass dome there is a piece of metal that needs to be replaced?

[identity profile] livingontheweb.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Sort of, yes, but it's simpler just to replace the whole thing.

I see...my friend said she could help with this.

Tell me...do you also know if the magic light inside the food storage remains on when it closes?

[identity profile] livingontheweb.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
It doesn't.

love it when you talk like a scientist. ~<3

MJ honestly the virus is over you don't have to...oh I see...alright carry on then, crazy kids.

Nonono. Okay no more using slang.

It's a really thin piece of metal suspended in a glass ball, basically. I think.

[identity profile] neverthatsimple.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
The thin piece of metal eventually burns through or falls apart, I think. Since that's what actually makes the light, once that happens it won't work anymore.

I see...hmm...perhaps I need a blacksmith then...or maybe Lorne could put a forge in my Kitchen.

[identity profile] neverthatsimple.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
...or you could just get a new light bulb.
